But Genesis 5 tells us a different story: God was preserving a line of people who would walk with Him. The Story of the Generations: Look at this timeline. From Adam to Seth, to Enosh, and all the way to Noah, God was moving through history with purpose. Even though these men lived for hundreds of years and eventually passed away, something was being built. Each name represents a life that God watched over, a family that God sustained, and a step closer to the promise He made in Genesis 3:15.   My Dearest Daughters, We’ve walked through the Garden and felt the weight of the Fall. But the story doesn’t stop at the gates of Eden. In Genesis 4 , we see exactly what happens when that "poison" of sin is left to run its course. It’s a hard chapter, but it’s a necessary one because it shows us exactly why we need a Savior. The Progression of the Poison: In the Garden, sin began with Doubt . By the time we reach the lives of Cain and Abel, that doubt has grown into Hatred . Sin is a downward spiral. It is vital that you understand how sin entered the world, not to scare you, but so you can recognize the enemy's tactics before they take root in your own heart. The Story of the Fall: Adam and Eve had it all—purpose, provision, and a perfect relationship with God and each other. But in Genesis 3 , a "subtle" serpent enters the scene. Notice how he begins: he doesn't shout; he questions. The enemy started by making Eve doubt what God had said.
